Dynamic Lighting

This series explores the creative use of dynamic lighting in an urban environment, captured at night in downtown Jacksonville, Florida. The Main Street Bridge and surrounding buildings become a canvas for a blend of street lighting, architectural LED displays, and ambient city glow, showcasing how multiple light sources with different temperatures and colors can interact in a single scene. Through this assignment, I aimed to highlight how cool blue hues from building lights contrast sharply with the warm tones of sodium streetlamps and the reflective glow of city lights dancing across the water. This mixture of lighting types—environmental, continuous, and colored—reveals how different sources of illumination can dramatically shape both the mood and visual structure of a photograph. These ten images demonstrate the subtle and dramatic effects of light in motion and reflection. Captions may be included to describe the lighting setup or creative intention behind select shots.
